ingenic
Ingenic was founded in 2005 by the early advocate of domestic microprocessors. In May 2011, the company was listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange's Growth Enterprise Market.
Initially, Ingenic's business was based on its independently innovative CPU technology. The company's self-developed CPU core, with its innovative microarchitecture, has industry-leading energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Since its launch in 2007, the core SoC products have been widely applied in fields such as biometrics, education electronics, multimedia players, e-books, and tablets, thanks to their excellent cost-performance ratio, powerful multimedia processing capabilities, and ultra-low power consumption advantages. They have become domestically produced CPU products that have successfully achieved industrialization.
With the development of the industry, Ingenic has continued to invest in research and development in areas such as multimedia codec technology, image signal processing technology, AI engine technology, and AI algorithm technology, forming its own independent technologies. The formation of a series of core technology systems has made the company increasingly competitive, leading the company into the AIoT field, providing core chips and solutions for AIoT.
In 2020, the company completed the acquisition of U.S.-based ISSI and its subsidiary brand Lumissil. Through this acquisition, the company has gained a complete memory product line, analog product line, and actively entered the automotive electronics and industrial electronics markets.
